Very Useful Resource for Hawk IDs

You are going to quickly find that telling the sharp-shinned hawk from the coopers hawk is very difficult (and is extremely likely to show up on tests and quizzes). This is an excellent website for learning the subtle differences between the two birds: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/pfw/AboutBirdsandFeeding/accipiterIDtable.htm

This website gives you hints for telling adults apart and for also telling juveniles apart. The juveniles have more differences between then, which usually makes them easier to tell apart than the adults, so we will focus primarily on identification of juveniles.

Make sure you take some time to look at this website. It will really help you out.
